Cable & Pipeline Locator
Pelican Rapids, MN I Full-time, Seasonal

As a result of an internal promotion within our Operations team, we are seeking a Cable & Pipeline Locator to be a key part in ensuring public safety and reliable energy service by accurately locating and marking underground electric distribution cables and natural gas pipelines. Respond to Gopher State One Call (GSOC) tickets accurately and within required timelines. Use mapping systems and locating equipment to identify underground infrastructure. Coordinate with contractors, excavators, and internal teams to support safe excavation. This is a full-time, seasonal position, typically working standard daytime hours from April through November, with a winter layoff.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Combination of education and experience equivalent to 1–3 years in a related field
  • Experience in construction, field services, utilities, or outdoor work preferred
  • Ability to read maps and operate equipment and mobile technology
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in field environments
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurability requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

The position is eligible for full-time benefits and the union starting wage range is $25.00 – $28.00/hour with a training progression period and wage adjustments to conclude over 2 years.
