Recycle CFLs at Menards and County Recycling Centers

Because CFLs contain a small amount of mercury, they should be recycled. Now, it's easy and convenient.

LREC and its wholesale power provider, Great River Energy, have joined with the Center for Energy and Environment to offer CFL recycling at no charge. And through an agreement between LREC and Otter Tail and Becker County Recycling Centers, you can recycle up to 10 bulbs free of charge.

Option 1. During regular business hours, bring the coupon and up to 10 household fluorescent tubes or CFLs to Becker County Environmental Services in Detroit Lakes or the Otter Tail County Recycling Center in Fergus Falls.

Option 2. Recycle your CFLs at Minnesota Menards stores free of charge. No coupon is necessary. Only compact florescent bulbs will be accepted. Tubes or other mercury-containing items will not be accepted. If unacceptable materials are brought to the store, Menards service desk team members will help to provide information on proper disposal.
