HOW TO REPORT AN OUTAGE
Call: (800) 552-7658 or (866) 367-5732.
Verify that your entire house is out and that you haven't just blown a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker.
If your power remains out for longer than a few minutes, or report an electrical safety hazard, please call LREC at 800-552-7658 or 866-367-5732. Your call will be answered by a Customer Service Representative or our Automated Outage Reporting System. If the outage is widespread, our phone lines may be busy when you call. Please be patient, your call is very important to us.
When you call to report an outage, please provide as many details as possible. If you heard a loud bang, or your power is out but your neighbors have power, let us know. The information you supply will help us in our efforts to restore electricity promptly.
How to report an outage through the Interactive Voice Response System: -
Normally your outage call will be answered by a Customer Service Specialist; however, if the outage is widespread there may be a large volume of calls. If so, you may be directed to our Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.
-
The automated IVR system will prompt you to enter and provide your outage information.
-
When you are connected to the automated system, all you have to do is speak your responses or enter the outage information using your key pad.
-
The IVR system automatically indentifies your location and enters the outage information.
- The automated system also asks if you have specific details about the outage such as a broken pole, tree on the line, wires down, or partial power.
- It is really important that the phone numbers we have for your account are correct. Please make sure that we have the correct phone number on file - the phone that you would use to call in a power outage. If this is a cell phone, please make sure that your cell phone is listed as the primary phone number on your account.
