Lee Mindemann Retires from LREC Board of Directors

Lake Region Electric Cooperative would like to express their gratitude to outgoing District 4 Director, Lee Mindemann, for his guidance and oversight while serving as a member of the LREC Board of Directors.

Mindemann, elected to represent District 4 members as Director in 2024, submitted his resignation at the January 2026 Board meeting.

As Director, Lee was focused on addressing the issues both our culture and industry face from the increasing demand for energy, distribution challenges, and the emphasis on renewables in our state. Despite no longer serving as Director, Mindemann remains confident that our cooperative’s priorities will continue to move the needle in providing safe and reliable energy to our members, noting LREC’s ‘quality staff.’

“It’s nice to be on a winning team,” Mindemann said, “and having a good story to tell.”

A Kindred, N.D., native whose background includes six years’ service in the U.S. Army and 30 years professional experience with Proctor & Gamble in various leadership and business development roles, Mindemann currently resides in Star Lake Twp. with wife Becky. Future plans include continuing to serve as a member of the Ottertail County Aquatic Invasive Species Task Force and spending time with family.
