LREC's Response to the Rolling Blackouts in Parts of North Dakota and Moorhead

LREC is communicating frequently with our wholesale power provider Great River Energy and currently, there are no plans for rolling blackouts in the northern half of the MISO (Midcontinent Independent System Operator) wholesale power market, which GRE and subsequently LREC are a part of.

The rolling blackouts in parts of North Dakota and Moorhead are being completed by utilities that are a part of the SPP (Southwest Power Pool) wholesale power market. The SPP asked all utilities in their market to complete rolling blackouts to reduce the demand on the grid as a means of preventing uncontrolled outages of greater magnitude.
